Last August TeamXtremejetskiing.com held their second annual Lake Erie Freeride. The scene was picture perfect here with 3 days of
sunshine, jetskiing, and good company. TeamXtreme has 2011 in its sights for an even bigger and better freeride.
The 2010 freeride was held at Mickey Rats/ Captain Kids beach club in Angola, NY. This small beach town is located 25 minutes south of
Buffalo on the Eastern end of Lake Erie. This spot until now has been TeamXtreme's best kept secret, with its sandy beaches, amazing
sunsets, and big fall surf. This is also a great place to hold an annual freeride. We are proud to say that the 2010 freeride brought out 65
riders and 120 people from 6 different states and Canada. On top of that we over 25 sponsors, both locally and nationally.
Friday kicked off the event with a great day of riding followed by a killer meet and greet party at the TeamXtreme beach house, which was
located at the Point Breeze Marina and RV Resort about a mile away from the beach club. 65 people attended the meet and greet party. The
party kicked off when people from all over started trickling in. The beach house was complete with jetski videos on large flat screens, a large
second story deck overlooking a sweet sunset, and lots of partying. A huge fireworks display on the beach was put on by one of the local
sponsors. It was an awesome way for everyone to get to know each other and a great start to the weekend.
Bright and early Saturday morning people started arriving by ski and by land to the beach club where the main event was held. There were
five tents set up by the water's edge, and even a water front DJ complete with a portable sound system. The day went on with lots of great
ride time, a lot of sunburns, sunny ski's and temps reaching the mid 80's. The beach was packed with jetskiers and locals. 5pm started the
riders dinner and raffle. We ended up with 120 people at our riders chicken dinner, basically taking over the clubs inside and outdoor patio.
We had multiple tables of prizes this year for the raffle, which started right after dinner. Everything from jetski parts, to riders gear, booze
baskets, and even a mountain bike and skateboard. A big shootout to all who donated prizes and sponsored (see sponsor list below). After
the raffle another long night of partying commenced. Some people stayed at the beach club which has 2 outdoor patio bars and 2 big dance
floors (which were packed full of people). Others headed back to the TeamXtreme beach house and decided to light a huge 20 foot bonfire
which was also set up by one of our local sponsors down by the water.
Sunday finished up the event with another day of riding and winding down. Prizes were given out for fastest speed contest, and a biggest
barrel roll contest. Team Xtreme rider awards were presented for the 2010 season.
This year we are pleased to announce that we will have on board with us, DJ Haberkorn who previously held the Cleveland Rock N Ride, and
Andy Zion who holds the Can-Am ride. They would like to combine efforts in helping us to make this years Lake Erie Freeride even bigger and
better.
We would like to say thanks to our previous years sponsors, helpers, and supporters. We welcome any previous or new sponsors for the
2011 event.
Thank you,
Team Xtreme
